12 requirements for the installation of imported safety valves

1. Safety valves on equipment or pipelines should generally be installed upright, but for safety valves installed in liquid pipes, heat exchangers, containers, etc., when the valve is closed, the pressure may increase due to thermal expansion. Install horizontally.

2. The installation of the safety valve should be as close as possible to the equipment or pipeline to be protected. If it cannot be placed close to the installation, the pressure drop from the pipe of the protected equipment to the inlet of the safety valve should not exceed 3% of the constant pressure of the valve. .

3. The safety valve should not be installed at the dead end of the long horizontal pipe to prevent the dead end from accumulating solid or liquid materials, so as not to affect the normal operation of the safety valve.

4. The safety valve should be installed in an easy-to-access and adjust room with sufficient working space around it.

5. For large-diameter safety valves, it is necessary to consider the possibility of lifting the safety valve after disassembly, and if necessary, set the boom.

6. The safety valve inlet pipe should adopt a long radius elbow.

7. The design of the safety valve outlet pipe should consider that the back pressure does not exceed a certain value of the constant pressure of the safety valve. For example, for a common spring safety valve, the back pressure does not exceed 10% of the constant pressure value of the safety valve.

8. The safety valve outlet pipe discharged into the closed system should be slanted at the top of the pressure relief pipe at a 45 degree angle to the medium flow to prevent the condensate from flowing into the branch pipe and reduce the back pressure of the safety valve.

9. The safety valve outlet pipe should not have a “pocket shape”. When the safety valve outlet pipe is long, a certain slope should be set (except for the dry gas system).

10. When the safety valve discharge pipe is discharged to the atmosphere, its outlet cannot be directed toward equipment, platforms, ladders, cables, etc.

11. There should be a “pocket-shaped” effluent inside the discharge pipe of the wet gas pressure relief system. The installation height of the safety valve should be higher than the pressure relief system. If the safety valve outlet is lower than the pressure relief main pipe or the discharge pipe needs to be raised to the access main pipe, the liquid separation bag should be provided at a low point and easy to access.

12. When the shut-off valve is installed on the outlet pipe of the safety valve, the single gate valve should be selected and sealed, and the valve stem should be installed horizontally to prevent the valve plate from sliding down when the pin connecting the valve stem and the valve plate is corroded or loose. When the safety valve is provided with a bypass valve, the valve should be sealed.
